Golf Champion

Colby got together with some guys at work for a Golf Tournament and this is the trophy he won. I know what you are thinking...Yes, those are drug bottles. Pharmacists are pretty nerdy! :)

The Second Child

There are a couple of things I'm realizing now that I have a 2nd child...
1. I don't take as many pictures, which I feel way bad about.
2. I am not as paranoid and overprotective as I was with the 1st child.
3. I can't figure out why I ever thought 1 was hard.
It definately has been an adjustment having 2 kids, but I love those 2 little boys! One of our favorite things to do is go on walks, but I was worried I wouldn't be able to do this because we needed a double stroller, well my Mother-in-law came to my rescue and gave us a double jogger as a baby present! It has been awesome! Corbin and Jameson both love it and I love it too!

He has the best chubby cheeks and so far he is a great baby. Corbin is adjusting well and loves his new baby brother. He has to help with everything. I can't believe we are a family of 4! Life is good!

In Memory of my Grandpa Coleman

Robert C. Coleman 1924 ~ 2010 BRIGHAM CITY - Robert Clyde Coleman, our loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother died peacefully on May 4, 2010.Born June 8, 1924 in Ogden, Utah, Robert was the oldest son of Clyde and Jenne Maine Flygare Coleman. Robert married Merle M. Williams, the prettiest girl at the Ogden USO, in the Salt Lake Temple on August 22, 1945. They enjoyed 57 years together before her death July 19, 2003. Shortly after graduating from Ogden High School and enrolling at Weber College, Robert enlisted in the army and proudly served his country in the European theater during World War II. Upon returning from the war, Robert started his career in commercial banking as a teller at First Security Bank. His career in banking continued at the Bank of Utah and was distinguished by opening the first branch in Roy and a new branch in North Ogden. In 1959 he joined Box Elder County Bank and rose to senior vice president and a member of the Board of Directors before First Interstate Bank acquired it. As a community leader in Brigham City, he served as president of the Chamber of Commerce and the Industrial Commission and was a member of Rotary Club. Robert was devoted to his family. He and Merle raised six children inspiring them, through example, to embrace family and to value education, hard work and the freedom that we enjoy in this country. His wife, Merle and son, Douglas Ray, preceded him in death. His sister, Ruth, also preceded him in death. Surviving are his daughter, Kris (Craig) Robinette of Brigham City; four sons: Dennis (Polly) of Salt Lake City, David (Julie) of Brigham City, Dal (Julie) and Deen of Brigham City; three brothers: Clair (Kaye) Salt Lake City, Jim (Marilyn) Bountiful and Ray (Donna), North Ogden; 22 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and his dog, April. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, 1950 Circle of Hope, Salt Lake City, UT 84112. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 15, at 1 p.m. at the Brigham City 14th Ward Chapel, 650 Anderson Drive. Friends may call on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gillies Funeral Chapel, 634 East 200 South, Brigham City and on Saturday from 11:30 to 12:30 at the church. Happy Day

"Happy Day" is what Corbin calls your birthday. So this post is for Colby's Happy Day. For his birthday Colby's parents and I surprised him with a golf trip to St. George. It was so much fun! We just stayed two nights, but it was nice to get away, especailly since we left Corbin with the grandparents. Colby golfed at The Ledges and at Coral Canyon. I was his caddie. :)

This picture is of Corbin on Colby's birthday. It was suppose to be his Easter outfit, but I didn't realize Easter was on Conference, so I had him wear it a week early. This is Corbin's first tie...I think he looks like a stud!

Potty Training

A couple of weeks ago we decided to embark on the big adventure of potty training. I had been preparing myself for this by buying Corbin a potty seat and "cool" underwear. I also took up every bodies advice on what works best. I should mention what sparked this "training" was that Corbin had learned to take off his diaper and one night we found him in his crib with his diaper of saying "mommy go potty" and he had peed in his bed! We were not too happy and realized that maybe he is ready for potty training.

We got stickers, starbursts (which he calls "squares"), and capri suns for rewards when he went potty. I was told you want to keep rewarding them with fluid so that they keep going, this worked really well. We spent all day at home for the first 2 days and it wasn't too bad. He had several accidents the first day and then only a couple the 2nd day. After trying to get him to go to the potty every 15-20 minutes it started becoming a challenge to get him on the potty so I did what I thought was pure genius. I brought the laptop in and turned on one of his favorite shows and he was content. Who needs magazines!? The laptop strategy also worked with helping relax him so he could poop. I am proud to say that after a couple of weeks Corbin is doing really good. He caught on really fast and there haven't been a overwhelming number of accidents. Call me the Potty Training Pro! Corbin has also started cheering for us after we go to the bathroom. He jumps up and down and claps his hands a yells, "Yeah! Good job mom/dad!" It's nice being cheered for the simple things in life! :)
